Multiple people assessed by paramedics after car hit by train

Multiple people have been assessed by paramedics after a car was hit by a train in Melbourne's west this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Truganina about 11.25am, following a crash involving a car, truck and a regional V/Line train.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed to 9News a number of people had been assessed at the scene, with one patient identified.

Coaches will replace trains on the Ballarat line, between Wendouree and Southern Cross, in both directions while the crash site is cleared and investigations continue.
