Victoria has recorded one new local case of COVID-19 as the state slammed its borders shut to parts of Queensland and Western Australia overnight.
The Department of Health said the locally acquired case is a primary close contact who had been isolating throughout their infectious period.
Nearly 30,000 people came forward for COVID-19 testing yesterday.

https://twitter.com/VicGovDH/status/1410002161631592449The new case comes as Victoria tightened its border measures this morning, declaring a large chunk of Queensland and the Perth and Peel regions as red zones from 1am.
Queensland's 11 local government areas (LGAs) in lockdown - spanning from the Gold Coast to Townsville - have now been classed as red zones.
A red zone classification means people are banned from entering Victoria unless they are Victorian residents who are willing to quarantine for 14 days.
Hundreds of Victorians raced home from the sunshine state on last-minute flights last night to avoid being forced to hunker down at home for their quarantine period.
