Man charged with murder after alleged road rage incident in NSW

A man has been charged with murder after an alleged road rage incident on the NSW North Coast.

Police found a 61-year-old man near the road at Albert Harrower Crescent in South West Rocks just before 7pm yesterday.

He had suffered serious head injuries and was treated at the scene before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition, where he later died.

He had allegedly been involved in a road rage incident with another man beforehand.

The men are not known to each other.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Kempsey Police Station, where he was charged with murder.

He was refused bail to appear in court later today.

The investigation is continuing.
