An elderly Adelaide woman has contracted meningococcal disease and has been admitted to hospital.
SA Health confirmed the 80-year-old woman was in a stable condition and her close contacts had been identified.
The strain has not yet been identified.

This is the seventh case of invasive meningococcal disease reported in South Australia this year.
The state had recorded three cases by this time last year.
