South Australia has recorded 2921 COVID-19 cases today and confirmed the death of a woman in her 50s who had the virus.
Premier Steven Marshall said the number of COVID-19 cases was "the lowest daily rate" the state had recorded for "quite some time".
"A very good result," he said.

There are 211 people in hospital in South Australia with the virus, an increase from 188 the day before.
There are 22 people in ICU and four on a ventilator.
Mr Marshall said the state had 480 health staff currently infected with the virus, including 41 positive cases who worked for SA Ambulance.

Mr Marshall has urged people to book a COVID-19 test online rather than waiting for a test for hours in the heat.
He said rapid antigen tests were set to be available for close contacts in the state from Thursday.

Mr Marshall said close contacts should register their need for a test online, where they would be told which site to collect their rapid antigen tests from.
He said the state was expecting to hit its peak of the current outbreak in the third or fourth week of January.
Mr Marshall said he would be able to let parents know on Friday what the beginning of Term One would look like for schools.
