Homemade bomb allegedly found in Melbourne home

A homemade bomb has allegedly been found inside a home in Melbourne's inner west.

Police allegedly found the homemade explosive device inside a property at Swaby Square in Footscray as they were doing a warranted search about 9am.

A man in his 30s has been arrested as police continue to investigate their findings.

The bomb squad has been on scene at the home throughout the day with the help of a robot.
