Carer charged with murder after body of woman found

A 82-year-old man has been charged with murder after the body of a "severely emaciated" woman was found in a home in Sydney south-west.

NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to a home on Pandora Street, Greenacre, just before 11am yesterday after reports of a medical episode.

Paramedics called police after they found the body of a severely-emaciated 60-year-old woman.

An 82-year-old man was arrested at the home.

He is alleged to have been the woman's sole carer.

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with murder.

The man has been refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
