Six police officers hospitalised after Sydney house fire rescue

Six NSW Police officers have been hospitalised with smoke inhalation injuries after rescuing three people from a burning house in Sydney's Inner West.

Around 9am today emergency services were notified of the blaze at a property on Arundel Street, Glebe.

Before firefighters arrived at the scene, police officers entered the flaming house to rescue three people trapped inside.

Six of the officers were taken to nearby Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment after inhaling deadly amounts of smoke.

There were no other injuries as a result of the fire.

A crime scene has been established and inquiries are continuing to determine the cause of the fire.
