Police seize staggering amount of 'ice' destined for Australian streets

Three men are behind bars after authorities seized $675 million worth of methylamphetamine, also known as "ice", destined for Australian streets.

The illicit drugs were found in a number of sea cargo containers, which arrived into Port Botany in Sydney last month.

Australian Border Force (ABF) officers examined the shipment, acting on intelligence.

Police discovered 748kg of methylamphetamine in a number of sea cargo containers in Sydney.The "ice" has an estimated potential street value of more than $675 million.

Inside they located the methylamphetamine, which weighed 748kg in total.

Three men, accused of being part of a criminal syndicate, were arrested and charged yesterday.

Three men have been arrested and will appear in court today after the "ice" seizure.

They have all been refused bail and will appear at court later today.
