Two arrests after man found dead, woman 'kidnapped' in NSW

A man and a woman have been arrested after the body of a man was found and a woman was allegedly kidnapped on New South Wales Central Coast.

At about 4.30pm AEDT yesterday, emergency services were called to Levitt Street, Wyong, following reports a woman had escaped a nearby unit after allegedly being kidnapped.

The 44-year-old woman told police she had allegedly been there since Thursday.

She was treated at the scene before being taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition for treatment of multiple injuries including burns.

While speaking with detectives, the woman raised concerns for the welfare of a man who she believed was also at the unit.

Soon after, police found the body of a man inside. He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in his 50s.

Following inquiries, a 30-year-old man was arrested at the unit at about 5.30pm and a 33-year-old woman was arrested at a home on Charmain Street, Watanobbi, at about 10pm.

They are currently assisting police with inquiries.
