A driver waiting at a Melbourne rail crossing was swarmed by a group and shot last month as two children and a woman also sat in the car.
Police are calling for help to find the attackers behind the shooting at the crossing on Mt Derrimut Road in Deer Park about 9.10pm on January 20.
The 27-year-old man had stopped his black Toyota Hilux at the boomgates when a group of men approached the car and opened the driver's door.

He was then shot in the lower body, suffering non-life-threatening injuries, as his passengers - two children and a 26-year-old woman - watched on.
After the attack, he managed to drive himself to a nearby hospital.
Detective Acting Inspector Chris Ellway said the "particularly concerning incident" had left the victim "with potentially life-changing injuries".
"We do believe this incident was targeted, however, it would have been incredibly frightening for the other people in the car and had the potential to impact other innocent parties," he said.
"We have a significant investigation into the incident underway and are keen to speak to anyone who has information about the shooting."
Several other cars were stopped at the crossing when the shooting occurred.
A white car is of particular interest to police.
People want to speak to any drivers and passengers who may have information or dashcam footage from the time.
Detectives have released CCTV of the cars at the crossing who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
