Man pleads guilty to murder of Adelaide nursing student Jasmeen Kaur

A 21-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the murder of Jasmeen Kaur, a nursing student whose body was found in South Australia's Flinders Ranges.

Tarikjot Singh was about to stand trial, accused of abducting his former girlfriend and killing her, before dumping her body in a shallow grave in March 2021.

Her remains were found a few days later, more than 400 kilometres from where she was last seen leaving work.

Last March, Singh pleaded not guilty and was due to stand trial but today at court he changed his plea to guilty.

Kaur, originally from India, had been living with her aunt and uncle in Adelaide and working as an aged care worker as she studied to become a nurse.

She was reported missing by them when her employer called her family to ask why she had not turned up for her shift.
