Police investigate after man self-presented to hospital with gunshot wound

Police are investigating after two men were injured in a "targeted" attack in Melbourne yesterday.

Police said after the incident a 20-year-old man self-presented at hospital with what is believed to be gunshot wound and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

It's understood that the incident occurred at Whittlesea Public Gardens in Thomastown just after 5pm.

It is understood a 19-year-old Thomastown man was also assaulted and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
