Woman jailed after 'slave' allegedly fatally beat boyfriend with hammer

Heide Bos wanted her boyfriend beaten badly enough that he would leave town.

So the dominatrix asked her "slave" if he could help.

Just before midnight on July 9, 2021, Nick Cameron went into his Melbourne apartment car park with his fluffy white terrier, Misty.

"He had no idea a man he didn't know was lying in wait for him in the shadows with violence on his mind," Victorian Supreme Court Justice Michael Croucher said on Wednesday.

Over 11 horrifying minutes, Cameron was beaten with a hammer and stabbed in an attack so ferocious it set off his car alarm. Neighbours were alerted by his screams for help and called police, who nabbed the alleged attacker as he attempted to flee.

Cameron suffered grave injuries and died at the scene from multiple blunt force head injuries.

A man has been charged with murder and is due to face trial in the Supreme Court at a later date.

Friends comforted Bos over the death of her boyfriend and she denied knowing anything about it. Text messages show she loved him, but hated him for how he had treated her.

Bos and Cameron had been in a volatile and verbally abusive on-and-off relationship for nine months.

"He's just got a way of hurting me that's very unique and nasty," she said.

Bos was involved in the planning of an attack on Cameron for more than a week before his death.

She met the accused killer on a fetish website six weeks earlier. Under the username "Hedonistic Siren" she described herself as "above you in every way" and her slave as "a pathetic strap of an excuse, mimicking human life".

Hours after the attack Bos sent a text to the "slave" to say she had changed her mind, not knowing it was too late and Cameron was already dead.

Had it not been for her involvement, Cameron would not have been attacked at all, the court heard.

But the armed and vicious attack carried out on him was completely beyond her contemplation, Justice Croucher said.

He jailed her for six years and three months on Wednesday, after she admitted she was guilty of manslaughter because of her complicity in arranging the attack.

Bos, who must serve at least three years and three months, also provided the alleged attacker with details of Cameron's movements, a building floor plan and photos to help him carry out the assault.

It wasn't until August 2021 that police connected Bos to the crime, through $2000 of bank account transfers to the alleged attacker labelled as "rent". Bos had claimed she didn't know the man.

Chris Cameron penned a poem about his relationship with his son, and described his skills as a footballer and a friend.

"By crikey, if your mateship was appreciated, a locked in warm-hearted friendship was given and it was lifelong," he said of the 39-year-old.

Cameron had also been in a relationship with another woman, who gave birth to their only child four months after his death.

Bos has already served 18 months of her sentence.
