Man arrested after deadly stabbing, car chase

A man is in custody after a woman was stabbed to death in Queensland overnight.

Emergency services were called to a unit complex in Caboolture in the Moreton Bay region at about 8.30pm.

They found a woman in her twenties with stab wounds.

She was raced to hospital in a critical condition, but died from her injuries.

Investigators identified a Holden Commodore as a car of interest, tracking it in the local area before it drove onto the Bruce Highway around two hours later. 

Police chased the car toward the Sunshine Coast before deploying a tyre-spiking device.

Caboolture stabbing.

The Commodore continued driving, before allegedly crashing into a police car on the Bruce Highway at Yandina.

A 29-year-old Morayfield man was taken into custody. Police allege he was the only person in the Commodore.

The man is now in Sunshine Coast University Hospital under police guard, in a stable condition.

Caboolture stabbing.

It will be alleged the man and the woman were known to each other.

Two police officers were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators have appealed to anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage in the vicinity of Short Street last night to come forward.

The investigation continues.
