Future of football video games unveiled after FIFA split

Electronic Arts has shared its first look at the next generation of football video games since separating from the FIFA brand last year.

New additions to the game include an introduction of women's football to the Ultimate Team pitch and HyperMotionV technology.

A first look at the gameplay for EA SPORTS FC 24 was showcased, highlighting the latest tech to make the game its most realistic yet.

HyperMotionV essentially takes data from over 180 professional football matches in the men's and women's game to create unique "true-to-football" movement and animations.

The Ultimate Edition game cover features all the big stars, including Australia's own Sam Kerr alongside David Beckham, Ronaldinho Gaúcho and the late great Pelé.

The official cover star for the game has been unveiled as Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

EA SPORTS FC 24 is coming to PlayStation, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch on September 29.

Players are able to jump in a week early if they preorder the Ultimate Edition for the game.
