Generator sold at Bunnings recalled over electric shock fears

A recall has been issued for a generator sold at Bunnings in Western Australia amid concerns the product could cause a fatal electric shock.

The hardware chain said 36 Ozito petrol inverter generators were sold between December 1, 2021, and February 16, 2022, across the state.

The affected model has a number of IGP-2018 and batch number 2021/06, which can be checked on the label.

The model and batch number can be found on the label.The product has been recalled over risk of electrical shock.

"The product does not comply with the Australian electrical safety standard", Product Safety said in a statement.

"The neutral wiring of the socket outlet has been wired incorrectly.

"Consumers should stop using the product and return the product to Bunnings for a refund or replacement, or contact Ozito to arrange for the generator to be re-wired, free of charge."
