Man shot after aggravated burglary in Melbourne's north

A man has been shot during an aggravated burglary in Melbourne's north last night.

Police believe three men broke into a house on Amarina Court in Meadow Heights about 9.45pm.

One person was home at the time and an altercation with the intruders took place, police said.

A 26-year-old man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound and remains in a serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Police are also investigating another incident, involving gunshots at a home on View Street in Glenroy, just after 12.30am.

Three men were found with injuries upon arrival, police said.

A 22-year-old man, a 45-year-old man, and a 23-year-old man were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A fourth man, a 43-year-old, self-presented to hospital with a gunshot wound and was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe the two incidents, which were 7km away from each other, were targeted.

"It is yet to be determined if the two incidents are linked at this stage and the investigation is ongoing," police said.

"Police believe these may be targeted incidents and there is no ongoing threat to the community."
