A Gold Coast councillor has been charged with murder after his mother's partner was found dead inside the family home at Arundel.
Police were called to the property at about 3pm yesterday following reports of a disturbance.
Ryan Bayldon-Lumsden, 30, was arrested and later charged with murder after the body of a 58-year-old man was discovered.

The dead man is believed to have been the partner of Bayldon-Lumsden's mother.
Bayldon-Lumsden, a former school teacher, was elected to Gold Coast Council in 2020.
Aged 27 at the time, he was the youngest councillor ever elected for the city.
He will face court today.
