Burger chain stores set alight in Brisbane

Two outlets of the same burger chain have been set alight within an hour of each other in Brisbane's north and south.

The chain Grubbies Burgers & Hawaiian BBQ had two of their shops in Redbank Plains and Strathpine set alight overnight.

The first Redbank Plains store caught fire at 1.20am and the second store was on fire about 50 minutes later.

Grubbies Burgers & Hawaiian BBQ had two of their shops in Redbank Plains and Strathpine set alight over night.

Burger chain owner Ben told 9News he was devastated at what had happened.

He said he had been working overnight to try and repair some of the damage.

"I'm a little bit emotional," Ben said.

"I got home from work last night about midnight and got a call at 1am that there was a break-in at our store so I rushed down here," he said.

"There was a bit of commotion."

Grubbies Burgers & Hawaiian BBQ had two of their shops in Redbank Plains and Strathpine set alight over night.

He said the stores also caught fire around Easter last year.

"I don't know what we did to deserve something like this".

CCTV from the shops will be used as investigations continue.
