Services Australia on strike for 24 hours

Customers have been reassured that no payments will be affected during a 24-hour strike at Services Australia.

The work stoppage, scheduled for today, comes after the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) rejected the government's revised pay offer.

Some reports suggest up to one-third of Services Australia's 34,000 staff will strike.

"Payments won't be affected," Services Australia said in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter.

It urged customers to go online or to use self-service terminals if they had pressing issues that needed to be taken care of.

The CPSU is demanding better for public service workers.
