A woman has been attacked by a shark and seriously injured while swimming off a small coastal town in South Australia.
The woman, in her 50s, was bitten on the leg by a shark this morning at Beachport jetty, about 300kms south-east of Adelaide.
She was helped out of the water and given first aid by bystanders until paramedics arrived.

Police were called about 7.45am, and the woman was rushed to Mount Gambier Hospital in a serious condition.
A spokesperson for South Australian Ambulance Service told 9news.com.au the initial plan had been to transfer the woman from Mount Gambier to a hospital in Adelaide, but that the regional hospital was well placed to manage her care.
Officials have urged everyone to avoid the Beachport area.
