A 10-month-old baby has died in hospital after an alleged assault in Tasmania's south.
The baby was presented to the Royal Hobart Hospital with "critical injuries" that police believed were suspicious on the morning of December 1.
Tasmania Police today confirmed the baby died in hospital on Friday.

"Our condolences are with the family and loved ones of the baby," Tasmania Police said in a statement.
Officers expect the investigation to "take some time".
