Consumers buying Allen's confectionery items from the supermarket will notice a change from today, with the company moving towards environmentally friendly packaging.
The items will keep its core colours and characters, but instead will be made with matte packaging, which is aimed at reducing plastic.
The move follows in the footsteps of parent company Nestlé, which changed to paper packaging for its Mars and Smarties products last year.

Nestlé Head of Marketing Confectionery Melanie Chen said this was one of the most important packaging changes that had been made over the past decade.
"Allen's lollies are here to bring smiles to Australians, and we want to keep doing that while reducing our impact on the environment, with a focus on reducing the amount of plastic we have in our packaging," Chen said.
"While Allen's lolly bags will look and feel different, we believe Aussies will welcome this move towards using less plastic so they can enjoy their Allen's lollies even more."
However some consumers have taken to social media to express their frustration at the changes.
"What happened to the packaging? Why do they look like that now?" one user said.
The changes will apply across the range of party pleasers, including Allen's Snakes Alive, Allen's Party Mix and Allen's Killer Pythons.
It's expected the change will reduce Allen's use of plastic by 21 per cent across their range.
