Manhunt for escaped prisoner in remote NSW mining town

Police are hunting a prisoner who escaped from custody in Broken Hill, a mining town in the far west region of outback New South Wales.

Zac Riley, 24, was last seen around 1pm yesterday at a corrective services facility attached to Broken Hill Local Court.

Police have warned the public not to approach Riley, who is described as being of Aboriginal-Torres Strait Islander appearance and around 175cm tall.

Anyone who sees Riley or knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact police.
