One person is dead and two are in a critical condition after a suspected mass overdose on the Gold Coast.
Paramedics arrived at an apartment complex on the waterfront at Surfers Paradise, Queensland, at 11.30pm on Friday, to find six patients struggling to breathe and some unconscious.
One woman in her 40s has died, while two other women have been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Four others were assessed and did not need further treatment.
It is unclear what drugs caused the suspected mass overdose, however, early reports have referred to the substance as a "drug cocktail," including ketamine, GHB or fantasy.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
