Man dies after stabbing at Queensland park, police hunt for knifeman

Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was fatally stabbed at a park in Brisbane's south.

Emergency services were called to a park on Mortimer Road at Acacia Ridge around 12.10am to find a man with multiple stab wounds to the abdomen.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the 22-year-old victim was unable to be saved.

Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was fatally stabbed at a park in Brisbane's south.

The man's attacker fled the scene before police arrived.

Detective Inspector Craig McDonald said the men were part of a large group who had gathered at the park overnight.

"It appears an altercation has taken place and a person has been stabbed," he said.

"We have a number of people assisting detectives.

"It appears at this early stage it would appear the attacker is known to the victim, there is most definitely no ongoing threat to the public."
