Woman released from hospital after alleged stabbing attack by ex-partner

A woman who was allegedly stabbed outside of a Sydney gym by her ex-partner has been released from hospital.

The woman, who wishes to stay anonymous, was allegedly stabbed in the neck, back and ear by her former partner Anthony Monteleone, outside of a Crunch Fitness in Alexandria on Wednesday.

She was taken to hospital in a stable condition after the alleged attack and was released from hospital on Friday morning.

She told 9News that she's still scared, but wants to warn other women about domestic violence.

Monteleone had allegedly previously breached two AVOs against him issued by the woman.

Monteleone appeared in Manly Local Court on Friday via a video-link from Surry Hills police station, wearing what appeared to be a hospital gown.

He handed himself in to police on Thursday, when he was subsequently arrested.
