P-plater's bizarre excuse for 192km/hr blitz in 1999 Toyota Camry

A P-plate driver clocked going nearly 200km/hr told Highway Patrol he'd had a "rough week", police said.

At about 9.10pm last Thursday, August 1, officers were patrolling Hakone Road, Woongarrah, on the New South Wales Central Coast.

In a 50km/hr zone they allegedly spotted a 1999 Toyota Camry travelling at speeds of up to 192km/hr.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Hamlyn Heights, was pulled over.

"I've had a rough week at work," he said, according to police.

"I was just blowing off some steam."
