Fire damages shop, medical centre and kindergarten after Melbourne ram raid

A fire has torn through a convenience store in Melbourne's north and also damaged a medical centre and kindergarten after an alleged ram raid.

Police were called to GrabnGo store and cafe in Mickleham following reports the shopfront was on fire just before 1.30am today.

It's alleged a car drove into the store before the business was set alight.

Firefighters rushed to the scene but a neighbouring kindergarten and medical centre were also damaged by the blaze.

Nobody was injured.

Nearby residents have told 9News "everyone was shocked" in the area after the incident.

"I never had experienced anything like this before in my life," one resident said.

Police are on the hunt for those responsible for the alleged attack.
