Man charged after gunshot fired at NSW Central Coast unit

A 56-year-old man was arrested yesterday evening after allegedly firing a gunshot at a unit in Gosford, on the NSW Central Coast.

Police were called to the unit on Gertrude Street about 6.30pm following reports of a gunshot.

Brisbane Water Police District and specialist police officers surrounded the unit before entering the property just before 8pm.

NSW police have arrested a man after a gunshot was fired at a unit on the Central Coast.

Police seized a double-barrel shotgun, ammunition and a machete. The 56-year-old man inside the unit was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station.

The man is now facing several charges relating to firing the weapon, possession of the firearm without a licence and possessing a prohibited drug.

He has been refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Local Court today.
