Dozens of members of the Hells Angels bikie gang have been targeted during a heavy police operation in Canberra.

As the outlaw bikie gang descended on the nation's capital for its national run between January 30 and February 2, Raptor Squad officers issued 50 traffic fines, charged two men and seized weapons and alleged drugs.

During the joint police operation between ACT Policing and the NSW Crime Command, officers stopped and checked 40 bikie members, conducted 35 personal searches and 18 car searches.

Detective Acting Superintendent Virginia Gorman, Raptor Squad Commander, said outlaw bikie gangs should always expect a strong police presence at their gatherings.

"Outlaw motorcycle gangs and their associates should know that they cannot gather in large numbers for a national run without attracting the attention of the Raptor Squad," Gorman said.
