He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he later died.

The man was with his wife and adult son collecting an item they'd purchased on Facebook Marketplace.

He was trying to secure that item to the roof of his vehicle when he was struck by another car. It is understood he was thrown several metres.

Police have launched an investigation into the death, and are preparing a report for the coroner.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
