Woman caught with cardboard number plates

A woman will face court after she was caught driving with cardboard number plates in Sydney.

Police said this morning on social media that officers pulled over a Hyundai Veloster on The River Road, Revesby, in the city's south-west, at about 11.30pm on July 4.

The car sported cardboard cut-outs instead of number plates.

A photo police posted showed the "plates" appeared to be kept on with duct tape.

Police discovered the 32-year-old driver had recently had her driving licence suspended for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/hr.

On that occasion, police had confiscated the Hyundai's licence plates for three months.

Police allege that the woman claimed she had made cardboard licence plates so she could drive to see her friend.

She was issued a court attendance notice for multiple driving and vehicle offences.
