A man has died after he was shot in Melbourne's CBD this morning.
Residents said they heard a gunshot just before 4am today.
The man made his own way to hospital a short time later, where he died.
Victoria Police homicide detectives will today comb the scene at the corner of Franklin and Elizabeth Street.
