Infant critical after car hits woman, pram, on Gold Coast

An infant is in a critical condition after a crash on the Gold Coast yesterday afternoon.

Police say a Toyota Corolla was travelling along River Run Court, near the intersection with Oakover Avenue at Ormeau Hills, at about 5.55pm, when it struck a pedestrian and a pram.

The pedestrian, a 60-year-old Ormeau Hills woman, and an infant were both transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Gold Coast University Hospital, where a man is in a critical condition after allegedly being involved in a brawl that left another man dead in northern NSW.

The woman is in a stable condition and the infant is in a critical but stable condition.

The driver, a 26-year-old Ormeau Hills, remained on scene and is assisting police.

The investigation is ongoing.
