Teenage boy eaten by crocodile just days after similar incident

A teenager has been eaten by a crocodile in India just days after a man met the same fate nearby.

The partially eaten body of the 15-year-old boy was found in the Khakhra River in the Pilibhit District, India.

It's understood the condition of the boy's body led authorities to believe the crocodile attacked while he was bathing his buffalo in the river.

The partially eaten body of the 15-year-old boy was found in the Khakhra River in the Pilibhit District, India.

The boy was from the Semarkheda Village.

His death follows a similar incident involving a man about 65 kilometres north in the Dundwa Range.

Local authorities have erected signs in the area to create awareness about the danger of crocodiles.

"After discussing with the district magistrate, we have decided to identify the areas near human habitat where there is a presence of crocodiles and will put up signboards there to keep people away," Pilibhit Superindentant Kirit Rathore said.
