One-month-old puppy reunited with family after being dognapped

A Perth family can sleep a little easier tonight after two puppies stolen earlier this week were safely returned home.

One-month-old staffy cross puppies Jay Jay and Sun were nabbed in two separate robberies this week.

The puppies were snatched through the fence of Malaga Auto Dismantlers. Jay Jay was taken on Sunday before Sun was stolen on Monday.

The two puppies are 'exhausted' after playing all evening.Also happy to see the pups is mum Ace, who stopped eating after her babies were stolen.

However, late last night owner Nasisch got the news she had been waiting for.

Jay Jay had been handed into Mirrabooka Police, 24 hours after his sister Sun was returned.

"It's very good news," Nasisch, who asked to be referred to only by her first name, told 9News.

"Police called me and I said 'you're kidding me'".

The two puppies were handed into a local police station, 24 hours apart.

The family had offered an unlimited reward for the animals' safe return and will not be pressing charges.

The two siblings are overjoyed at being reunited after their misadventure.

"They're a bit sleepy because they didn't sleep last night — they were just playing," Nasisch said.

CCTV footage shows the dognapper lifting one of the puppies over the fence.Jay Jay and Sun were stolen on Sunday and Monday evening.

Also happy to have them back is mother Ace, who was so bereft after the theft that she stopped eating.

Jay Jay and Sun won't be leaving their owners' sight from now on and as of this afternoon they are now microchipped.
