'Tentative' trial date set for man accused of raping Brittany Higgins

A tentative trial date has been set for the man accused of the rape of former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins.

Bruce Lehrmann is facing one charge of sexual intercourse without consent over the alleged incident at Parliament House on March 23, 2019.

The 26-year-old denies the allegation and had his case mentioned in the ACT Supreme Court today for a directions hearing.

Registrar Jayne Rees set a "tentative" start date for the trial to begin on June 6 next year.

The court was told it would run for four weeks.

Ms Higgins came forward with her allegations in February this year, triggering a series of reviews into the workplace safety culture at Parliament House.
