Three men have been charged over the alleged "brutal" murder of a Malaysian National in the New South Wales Central West in 2020.

Mr Wong is believed to have died between December 25, 2020 and January 8, 2021.

Police alleged he was involved in organised crime at the time of his death.

Investigators began a search of a rural property at Killongbutta last Tuesday.

At about 3.30pm yesterday, they found human remains, which will undergo forensic examination and DNA testing.

The remains have not been formally identified, but police believe they are those of Mr Wong.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
