Manhunt underway after Melbourne man shot in the leg metres from home

Police are hunting a gunman after a 37-year-old man was shot in the leg outside his Taylors Lakes home in Melbourne on Friday.

Emergency services received reports of an injured man about 7.45pm, who had made his way to a nearby business to beg for help.

The man had taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are hunting for the man responsible for a "targetted" shooting in Melbourne.

His attacker was last seen in a dark-coloured vehicle, fleeing across the Melton Highway.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which is not believed to be gang related, but a targeted attack.

Officers are appealing for CCTV or dashcam footage as the investigation continues.
