Alleged BMW driver charged in connection with fatal Melbourne shooting

Police have today charged a man following the shooting death of a 31-year-old man in north west Melbourne last weekend.

Officers arrested a 21-year-old Roxburgh Park man in Mulgrave shortly early yesterday as part of a planned operation.

Police will allege the man was the driver of the black BMW involved in the fatal shooting of Aymon Fatho in Taylors Hill on Sunday night.

He was charged with conduct endangering life, conduct endangering serious injury, driving in a dangerous manner and other related offences.

He will appear in court later today.

Police also yesterday found and spoke with the fourth man they believe to have been involved in this incident.

A 42-year-old Melbourne man, believed to be the person who shot the victim, handed himself into police on Tuesday.

He was interviewed by police and released pending further inquiries.

The charges followed Sunday's incident where emergency services were called to Vaucluse Boulevard, Taylors Hill, about 11.30pm and found Fatho in a black BMW sedan with critical injuries.

Paramedics treated Fatho at the scene but were unable to save him.

He will be farewelled at Campbellfield this weekend.

The investigation remains ongoing.
