The Queensland coroner will today open a pre-inquest hearing into the Wieambilla shootings that claimed six lives.
Two police officers and four other people died in the attacks in the state's Western Downs more than 300km west of Brisbane, on December 12, 2022.
Constables Matthew Joseph Arnold, 26, and Rachel Clare McCrow, 29, along with two other officers attended a remote property to carry out a welfare check.

Arnold and McCrow were killed after they were fired on. The Queensland Police Union described the ambush as a "ruthless and calculated execution".
A male officer was able to escape while another female officer escaped into bushland.
The three suspects in the shooting, Nathaniel Train, his brother Gareth and sister-in-law Stacey, lit fires in a bid to flush out the fleeing female officer.
The Trains also shot dead neighbour Alan Dare, 58, who went to investigate.
