A man has been arrested over the death of an elderly pedestrian in south-west Sydney late yesterday.
Events began when emergency services were called to Elizabeth Drive, Liverpool, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.
Police found a 95-year-old man with critical injuries.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene, before being taken to hospital where he later died.
The driver – a 36-year-old man who was uninjured - was arrested.
He was later taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established, and police crash investigators began inquiries.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
