Two charged with murder after motorcyclist's death on the Gold Coast

Two men have been charged with murder following the death of a motorcyclist on the Gold Coast hinterland.

Detectives from Gold Coast criminal investigation branch this evening charged a 28-year-old Mitchelton man and a 29-year-old Narangba man.

Police will allege the two men were travelling in a vehicle at Natural Bridge, about 30 kilometres west of Coolangatta, when the 28-year-old rider from Bracalba crashed about 10.10 am on Friday.

The rider sustained life-threating injuries and died at the scene.

Queensland Police detectives have charged two men with murder following the death of a rider on the Gold Coast.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

"The Mitchelton man was arrested late yesterday afternoon on the Sunshine Coast," Queensland police said in a statement.

"The 29-year-old Narangba man surrendered into custody at the Laidley police station shortly after 2am on Saturday."

Both men were refused bail. They are due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
