Teen girl seriously injured after alleged car surfing incident

A teenager has been seriously injured after an alleged car surfing incident in South Australia.

Police allege the 13-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were riding on the roof of a grey Mitsubishi Lancer in Paralowie, in Adelaide's north, when they fell off.

The girl was taken to the Women's and Children's Hospital with serious injuries.

Major Crash Officers attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances of the crash, the car was towed from the scene.

A 15-year-old girl, the alleged driver of the car, has since been arrested.

She's been charged with causing harm by dangerous driving and driving unlicensed.

She has been bailed and will appear in court in January.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
