Third teen charged over alleged attempted murder of security guard

A third teenager has been charged over the alleged attempted murder and stabbing of a security guard on the Gold Coast.

Police and paramedics were called to Westfield Helensvale on Friday morning following reports of a disturbance.

Detectives said several teenagers fled the scene in a stolen black Holden Trax, which was later tracked down about an hour later on Distillery Road at Beenleigh.

Four people were taken into custody.

The security guard remains in Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

On Saturday, a 17-year-old boy from Beenleigh was charged with attempted murder.

That charge came after a 19-year-old Oxenford man and 13-year-old Upper Coomera girl were charged over the incident on Friday.

Police said they have now arrested and charged all people allegedly involved.
