Dozens more venues, transport routes added to Sydney exposure list

The number of COVID exposure sites across Sydney continues to grow as contact tracers map out where people who have contracted the virus visited while they were infectious.

NSW Health, in its latest alert on Saturday, added a raft of new high risk locations, including a nail salon and a cafe where anyone who was there any time during entire days is considered a close contact.

The full list of exposure sites and times is constantly being updated at the NSW Health website.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the times listed is a close contact and must immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result:

  • Manly: Hugo's Manly, Manly Wharf, Saturday 19 June, 5.30pm – 8.15pm

  • Bondi Beach: Lyfe Café, Tuesday 22, June all day, Wednesday 23 June all day,

Anyone who attended the 6.30pm screening of Fast And Furious 9 at Reading Cinema on Sunday, June 20, must immediately call NSW Health on 1800 943 553, get tested and self-isolate until they receive further advice.

New locations, traces found in sewage

On Friday night, NSW Health put hundreds of thousands of people on high alert after traces of coronavirus were found in sewage treatment networks servicing dozens of suburbs.

The fragments of the coronavirus were detected at the St Marys sewage treatment plant, and sewage networks at Maroubra, Lough Park and Auburn, NSW Health said tonight.

St Marys sewage treatment plant serves about 150,000 people, Maroubra sewage network serves about 90,500 people, Auburn 113,000 people, and Lough Park about 21,500 people.

"NSW Health is aware of recently confirmed cases of COVID-19 isolating in these catchments. However, we urge everyone in and around these areas to be vigilant for any symptoms that could signal COVID, such as cough, sore throat, runny nose or fever," the department said.

"If they appear, please get tested and self-isolate immediately."

Detections were made earlier today in the Ireland Park, West Camden, Cronulla and Bourke sewage catchments.

Anyone who attended the following venue at the time listed is a close contact and must immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result:

  • Barangaroo: Lotus restaurant, Sunday 20 June between 12.30 and 3pm
  • Bondi Beach: Lyfe Cafe, Friday 18 June all day, and Saturday 19 June all day
  • Bondi: Lean Bean Fitness – Baby Mumma Beans class, Friday 18 June, 10.30am to 11.15am, Monday 21 June 10.30am to 11.15am
  • Waterloo: Moore Park View Hotel, Tuesday 22 June 3.30pm to 6.30pm
  • Kensington: Doncaster Hotel, Wednesday 23 June, 5.45pm to 8pm

Transport routes added to exposure sites

Also on Friday, 12 more venues and 11 transport routes across Sydney were added to the ever-growing list of COVID-19 exposure sites.

The latest place of most concern is the Lotus Barangaroo seafood restaurant. Anyone who was there, either inside or outside on Sunday June 20 between 12.30 and 3pm is a close contact.

They must immediately get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result, and call 1800 943 553 unless they have already been contacted by NSW Health.

Lotus Barangaroo has been added to the list of close contact exposure sites.

A number of venues have also been listed as casual exposure sites. Anyone at the below venues at the times listed must immediately get tested and self-isolate until a negative result is received.
