Climate change protesters have been arrested after gluing themselves to a Picasso painting at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne.

The surface of the painting is covered with glass, so the glue didn't directly damage it.

Extinction Rebellion has claimed responsibility.

"This painting shows the horrors of war," the organisation posted on Facebook.

"Climate breakdown will mean an increase in conflict around the world."
